Abstract
Compares the downfall of three Bangladesh governments in the past thirty years, specifically the Sheikh Mujib, General Ershad, and Khaleda Zia regimes. The pattern of political violence demonstrated has made it difficult for democracy and legitimate elections to become institutionalized.
