Abstract
Reviews Noble D. Clark’s Born to Die: Disease and New World Conquest (1998), a work on the impact of epidemic disease on native demography in the Americas, Ramón Pané’s An Account of the Antiquities of the Indians (1999), a study commissioned by Christopher Columbus in 1493 (which is newly translated and edited), and Gerrit Bos’s Some Recoveries in Guiana Indian Ethno history (1998), a volume about several historical sites in Guiana.
