An economics professor strongly believes that it is the economists’ responsibility to divulge to the general public their knowledge on how an economy works and how to design or assess economic policy. Economists should also be knowledgeable as much about data collection methodology as about theory and history. The use of empirical data allows economists to provide better clues to understanding human activities and events.
