The materialist anthropology of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century led to anti-religious sentiment and scientific racism. The work of Vacher de Lapouge, the French inventor of “anthroposociology,” is discussed as an example of scientific anti-morality. Arguments are made toward proving Vacher de Lapouge’s influence in the development of Nazi racial policy.
