Abstract
Policy autonomy is discussed. It is argued that global neoliberalism undermines policy autonomy and thereby threatens the ability of domestic social democratic regimes to ensure economic security and equality. A brief discussion is presented of just how social democratic regimes might seek to respond to this loss of policy autonomy in order to secure traditional social democratic goals.
