World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalization
Abstract
A variety of voices are pressing the case for change in the current process of globalization. This selection outlines a systematic follow-up to the recommendations made by the World Commission on the Social Dimension of Globalization. The authors propose action to engage the commitment and sustained involvement of both State and non-State actors. In all cases the authors envisage a central role for the multilateral system of the United Nations in animating and supporting the follow-up process as a whole. This selection has implications for national and international actors, policy development and multilateral organizations in addressing the process of globalization.
