Humanistic Psychology and Chaos Theory: The Third Revolution and the Third Force
Author(s)Krippner, Stanley
AbstractChaos theory, which is a branch of mathematics that deals with seemingly complex phenomena, but understandable with reference to vector calculus, can be applied to humanistic psychology. Chaos theory challenges the scientific emphasis on relationalistic, logical and predictive analyses. It develops the epistemological basis of various studies and focuses on the necessity of considering the validity of hermeneutics, phenomenology and other studies of human perception and life.
