Abstract
Regulation theory was a popular trend during the 1980s within radical political economy as it closely identified with specific periods of historical reality. However its middle-range methodology prioritize superficial features of reality and fails to grasp the deeper roots or the actual course of historical evolution. The limited explanatory power of regulation theory results in arbitrary juxtapositions of economics and politics.
