Abstract
In an effort to remedy the neglect of Third World women and girls in the literature regarding femicide, this article contributes to scholarship on the topic by focusing on the patterns of female homicide victimization in Fiji and the varied circumstances under which these crimes are committed. The article further explores the social, cultural and political milieus that engender, sustain or exacerbate fatal violence against women in the society. This study’s focus on Fiji is a response to the relative omission or preclusion of societies of the South Pacific region from scholarly work regarding females’ homicide victimization.
