Abstract
In this paper, higher education in Libya is envisaged principally within the context family organization and its socio-cultural adaptation thereinof. It is argued that while the peoples endorse formal learning, they nevertheless insist on fitting its diverse applications within their cultural heritage. Quite notably, the scientific and technical aspects of schooling seem to provoke little debate or controversy among Libyans compared to its more polemic normative implications.
