Abstract
The way by which South Korea was able to make relatively smooth democratic transition and deepening by relying on recent scholarship on democratization is discussed. Power sharing has resulted in more motivations of the part of electoral losers to stick to the ongoing democratic game on one hand and less leverages on the part of electoral victors to exercise the full imperial power of the presidency on the other hand.
