Abstract
This article does not present a full review of facts and theories of evolution as such; rather it considers selected aspects of the debate between the science of evolutionism and religious creationism. Gives an overview of the origins of the religious opposition to scientific evolution in the US and explains the “creationist science” movement. A description of biblical and scientific explanations on the origins of human life is given; key arguments that creationists make against scientific evolution are refuted with evolutionary scientific evidence. The article concludes that bringing religion into science results in the direst evil being done to them both but that unrestricted scientific investigation has done the utmost good for both science and religion.
