Abstract
Several remedies to defects of preprocessual, processual and postprocessual approaches of archeology are presented. However, before coming out with any solutions to the shortcomings of each approach, it is important to consider the sentiments, reasoning and emotions that ancient people possessed. Archeologists must, with a limited knowledge of ancient tradition, try to determine how far they can get, devise more sophisticated methods applicable to direct historical approaches, and be innovative but responsible in developing a “middle-range theory of the mind”.
