A Bit of Bolshevik Sociology: Workers Write About Their Jobs
Author(s)
Blumberg, Paul
Abstract
This selection is about the ingenious ways business cheats consumers in the marketplace. It is based on over 700 essays written by workers in dozens of different kinds of enterprises who reveal the deceptions and tricks of the trade carried out at their place of work. Blumberg writes that business deception, though widespread, is neither universal nor evenly distributed and questions what explains these variations. This chapter is an introduction to his book.
