Abstract
This chapter outlines an analysis of the ways in which the work of Nobel Laureate Professor Amartya Sen has advanced international thinking about global poverty as a human rights issue. This book explores Sen’s research agenda from a human rights perspective and assesses the significance of his work for a contemporary human rights project that includes the elimination of global poverty as a central and critical objective.
