Abstract
This selection presents the idea that the human economy has passed from an era in which manmade capital was the limiting factor in economic development to an era in which remaining natural capital has become the limiting factor. The policy changes that this new “era” would entail for both development in general and multilateral development banks, in particular, are considered.
