Does Race Exist? An Antagonist’s Perspective
Author(s)Brace, C. Loring
AbstractRace is a term that has been used to categorize and differentiate humans for centuries, but does it exist? It is true that one may distinguish people according to differences in skin color, hair type, facial structure, etc., which are characteristic to specific areas or regions. Multiple reasons, such as geographical adaptations, biological heredity, cell mutation, and so on, can cause differences in human appearance, and it is not unreasonable to place geographic labels on people. However, race as a biological trait does not exist, and as seen with the American example, it can be a very influential tool in separating people through the perpetuation of the concept of race.
