Merrick and the British Campaign to Stop Immigration: Populist Racism and Political Influence
Author(s)Bentley, Stuart
AbstractJim Merrick and his British Campaign to Stop Immigration had a considerable influence on the development of fascist and far-Right organisations in British politics. Anti-black racism is now being developed and reinforced through neo-fascist and fascist organisations, with anti-Semitic racism no longer the predominant driver. Far-Right concepts are becoming part of mainstream political policies and debate throughout Europe in a recreation of the British political culture of the late-1960s to late-1970s. Populist racism is examined.
