Environmental Risks Posed by Transgenic Crops
Author(s)Rissler, Jane; Mellen, Margaret
AbstractThis chapter focuses exclusively on two major categories of environmental risks: those of the engineered plants themselves and those associated with the movement of transgenes into other plants. The authors focus on the implications of transgene flow from the transgenic crop to wild/weedy relatives. They close by discussing the risks posed by transgenic virus-resistant crops, while exploring the possibility that some risks have yet to be identified.
