Author(s)Giampietro, Mario; Mayumi, Kozo
AbstractThe neoclassical economic paradigm endorsing continuous global economic growth through stimulated trade was given focus in an analysis which presents a different perspective of development. In the analysis, emphasis was given on the importance of preserving the integrity of economic systems and the need for respect biospheric equilibria in regulating world economic activity and trade. Results of the analysis revealed that current ecological crisis resulted from changes in perceiving the relation between humans and nature.
