Abstract
The author discusses the manner in which macroeconomics have been affected by partisan governments in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries during the 1960s through the 1990s, taking into account financial liberalization and exchange rate systems. Conservative governments favored tight monetary policies and fiscal discipline, whereas socialist countries favored loose monetary policy and loose fiscal measures for noncorporatist settings and budget deficits for corporatist setting.
