Abstract
The principle of competition policy as applied to regional aid programs is based on general principles governing economic assistance integrated with geographical concentration and extent of assistance. Regional aid must be channeled to regions which need aid to undertake structural changes to effect economic reforms. In addition, rates of award must be regulated based on the nature, intensity and urgency of the problems requiring economic assistance.
