Postmodernism and Institutionalism: Toward a Resolution of the Debate on Relativism
Author(s)Hoksbergen, Roland
AbstractInstitutionalism is undergoing a dramatic transformation as it comes to terms with the emergence of postmodern concepts. The ongoing debate over the role of relativism is a reflection of the direction of this transformation, which has led institutionalism to adopt many themes of the postmodern school. This process of conversation between institutionalism and postmodernism promises to alter the shape of economic philosophy and is likely to yield valuable insights as postmodernist thought improves the institutionalist perspective.
