The Fallacy of Misplaced Concreteness in Economics
Author(s)Daly, Herman E.
AbstractThis selection addresses the problem of economics being too abstract, deductive and mathematical in nature. These flaws cause economics to lose focus of the community and society it is supposed to benefit. This “misplaced concreteness” needs to be minimized by avoiding excessive professional specialization and by “getting back to the concrete.”
