Values Without Prices
Author(s)Ackerman, Frank; Heinzerling, Lisa
AbstractThis chapter uses the passage of the Clean Air Act as a case study to show that not everything of value is priceless since some of the benefits of protecting life, health and nature can and should be priced. Other controversial topics covered include holistic evaluation of costs and benefits, moral imperatives and top-tier issues, the importance of precaution, and fairness and the future.
