Abstract
The application of Thorstein Veblen’s concepts on hermeneutic culture and blind drift to evolutionary economics and cultural change is analyzed from a modern perspective. Veblenian theory shows that individuality does not wield much power in influencing cultural progress. Instead, an integration among culturally prominent persons and groups is considered necessary for such social progress.
