AbstractHow Fair Is the Nobel? (influence of government policy on choice of winners for the Nobel Price in economics) The Nobel Prize in economics, unlike other Nobel Prize categories, was created by the Swedish Central Bank in 1969. A review of award-winning theories suggests that the selection of the winner is usually influenced by the economic views of government policymakers.
