Banking Sector Policies and Financial Development in Nepal

AbstractThe impact of banking sector policies on financial and economic development in Nepal is examined. Nepal is chosen as the case region since its financial system has undergone financial repression and liberalization. Data show a joint determination between financial deepening and economic growth. Banking sector policies are found to have a major influence in determining financial development.
