Basic Needs Growth: Is There a Conflict
Author(s)Streeten, Paul
AbstractThe chapter addresses the relation between basic needs and growth and makes a case for there being no conflict. Numerous evidence is given in support. Growth by itself does not guarantee satisfaction of basic needs but policies oriented towards the basic needs approach do not necessarily inhibit growth.
