Author(s)Robinson, Joan
AbstractIn applying Keynes’ theory to particular problems, Robinson defines orthodox traditional economics as a plan for explaining to the privileged class that their position was morally right and necessary for the welfare of society. The author puts forward examples of the products of traditional economics teaching. Robinson argues that economists have made it fatally easy for the rich and pious to preserve an easy conscience.
