Our Disdain for Culture
Author(s)Scitovsky, Tibor
AbstractAnother important cultural force influencing our way of life is a bias in our education, which is likely to sway our consumption pattern in favor of comfort and against stimulus enjoyment. The author argues that all stimulus enjoyment is skilled consumption. Defining culture as knowledge, the discussion outlines consumption skills as a part of culture.
