Human Values and Economic Behavior: A Model of Moral Economy
Author(s)Wilson, John Oliver
AbstractPositions taken in this debate about the relationship between human values and economic behaviour range from a denial that the two are connected to the assertion that human values must be the very source of legitimacy of the economic system. The former stance of treating economics as a value-free science is inadequate and concepts of human value must be integrated. This paper represents a moral model of economic behavior that attempts to do this, expressed in terms of seven basic postulates.
