Abstract
Examines the effects of commercial fishing, oil and gas exploration, and heavy metal, chemical and radioactive pollution on the plant and animal populations of the Barents Sea from the 1950s to the early 1990s. The authors also hypothesize about the changes that might occur in the ecosystem if global warming continues.
