The Greens of Europe: A New Environmentalism
Author(s)Von Moltke, Konrad
AbstractThe environmental movement in Europe has spawned organizations that work within the political structures of each country. The Greens of West Germany, however, have initiated a grass roots environmental movement that has its own political agenda. The author reviews the history of the German Greens party and assesses its impact and integration into national politics. The author discusses the emulation of this movement in other European countries and reviews the adoption of environmental policies as a function of political pressure.
