Abstract
In 1953 the Kalabagh Dam Project was proposed at a site along the Indus River in Punjab. The province of Singh opposed the dam because it would harm local agriculture by cutting water supplies. The North-West Frontier Province opposed the project because it would result in vast amounts of the region’s cultivated land being submerged.
