Rape as Terrorist Institution
Author(s)Card, Claudia
AbstractCard shows how rape, considered as an institution, can have terrorist implications. She shows how rape can be classified as an institution, and then as an act of terrorism. She further argues that the traditional definition of terrorism is ethically irresponsible, because it ignores the terrorism of sexual politics and maintains an invisibility of routine violence against women, underlying visible sexist stereotypes.
