The Political Role of the Dominican Armed Forces: A Note on the vvvn Revolutionv
Author(s)Lowenthal, Abraham F.
AbstractIn an earlier book Lowenthal viewed the 1963 overthrow of Juan Bosch as a result of intramilitary maneuvering and not as an ideological move on the part of the officers. Other scholars have disagreed with this assessment and Lowenthal here attempts to bolster his argument by looking at subsequent actions of 25 high-ranking officers who supported Bosch’s overthrow. Based on Dominican documents, personal interviews, and secondary works.
