IBFAN: On the Cutting Edge
Author(s)Allain, Annelies
AbstractThis paper is a personal account of the author’s experiences during the past decade of the struggles of the International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN) in different international fora; highlighting the arduous task of building an international network, its victories and defeats, joys and frustrations, and its hopes and horrors for the future. The paper is an account of a “third system” organizer. It does not attempt to explain the issue or reflect on the legal aspects of Code implementation. It recalls the ongoing struggle of people against the inequities of powerful transnationals’ operations and heavy bureaucracies.
