Open Society Archives: An Overview

AbstractDescribes the educational activities and archival holdings of the Open Society Archives in Budapest, Hungary, established in 1995 in connection with the George Soros Foundation to preserve documents related to communism and the Cold War in Central and Eastern Europe during the second half of the 20th century. The article reviews in detail the collection of records on Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty since its earliest broadcasts in the mid-1950s.
