Abstract
Describes the political career of Béla Kun (1886-1938), founder of the Communist movement in Hungary in 1917-18, who came to power following the merger of the Social Democratic and Communist parties in 1919. Kun was expelled during the Stalinist era, but rehabilitated in 1956.
