The Unionization of the Exploratorium
Author(s)Ansel, Joseph G.
AbstractIn any museum exhibition design, the question of context plays a key role in adapting the exhibit to its proper framework. Using examples such as the Gandhi Museum, the National Crafts Museum in Delhi, the National Anthropology Museum in Mexico City, and the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C, the author explores the importance of taking typology into account when designing museums. By considering which museums fit into certain classifications, the overall design can be dramatically improved.
