The Economics of Japanese Imperialism in Korea, 1910-1939
Author(s)Mitsuhiko, Kimura
AbstractMany Japanese historians assert that Japan’s colonization of Korea (1910-1945) was very profitable for Japan and contributed to its economic development. It is argued here that this assertion is not well founded. The article examines the economic gains and losses from the colonization of Korea in an attempt to supplement the literature. Particular regard is given to the period from 1910-1939.
