Japan Joins the Axis
Author(s)Stowell, Ellery C.
AbstractAt the time of writing, Japan had recently signed an alliance with Germany and Italy for a term of ten years. This alliance indicated, in part, a bond of fear uniting Japan to the Axis. All members of the Axis feared that the U.S. would intervene in Asia and the aid given Britain would prohibit Japan from expanding through conquest and Germany from achieving its aim of European domination. This piece provides commentary on the situation.
