Warfare Is Only an Invention--Not a Biological Necessity
Author(s)Mead, Margaret
AbstractMead argues the point of view that warfare is an invention like any other invention in terms of which we live our lives. To support this argument Mead describes some societies in the world that do not practice nor understand the idea of war. She also examines specific practices regarding primitive warfare and the ways in which these are articulated in the social structure and compares these to other cultural inventions.
