Nationalism and War: A Social-Psychological Perspective
Author(s)
Druckman, D.
Abstract
Druckman looks at war from the perspective of nationalism, which itself is a product of psychological influences. He attempts to draw a connection between the psychological cause of nationalism and the psychological cause of war. He does this by explaining that in-group bias develops by simply the existence of other groups and that oversimplified images of other countries promotes hostility and public consent for war.
