Abstract
The causes of fighting and aggressiveness, which can be found in children and apes, can also be applied to adult aggressive behavior, both as individuals and as a state. The author concludes that the two primary causes of aggression, for adult, child, and ape are the id and moral judgment. In order to express aggression, these same three groups turn to two important psychological mechanisms: 1) displacement and 2) projection.
