Capability and Well Being
Author(s)Sen, Amartya
AbstractSen presents a more connected account of the ‘capability approach’ in this paper, as the alternative combinations of things a person is able to do or be – the various ‘functionings’ he or she can achieve. In describing the approach’s claims, uses, rationale and problems, Sen shows how this approach is relevant for the assessment of well-being.
