AbstractAt present, we are witnessing another revolution in viewing utility. Supported by new insights from psychology as well as by the identification of a significant number of behavioral anomalies, utility has been filled with content again: Utility can and should be cardinally measured in the form of subjective well-being. Individual preferences and happiness turn out to be distinctive concepts; they may deviate systematically and noticeably from each other.
