AbstractThis article compares international standards on inter-country adoption provided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Cooperation in Respect of International Adoption, and their interpretation by the Committee on the Rights of the Child. It also discusses adoption measures of several countries, including Ethiopia, Namibia, Costa Rica, Nepal, Ukraine, Estonia, and Romania.
