Nationalism: Ambiguous Legacies and Contingent Futures
Author(s)Kamenka, Eugene
AbstractNationalism, as a modern phenomenon, is a social or political ideology that escalates into national consciousness during times of progressive struggles to forge a unified identity. Such a view suggests that the 1990s’ authoritarian nationalists will be unable to follow the totalitarian path because of their pragmatism. It also brings to light the open-ended future of nationalism in countries worldwide.
